Update

Special meeting of Senate to take place on November 10 regarding disruption to term

Friday, November 7, 2025

We understand the impact the part-time faculty strike is having on our students and community at large. We are increasingly hearing from Saint Mary’s University members that they want more transparency about negotiations and what we are doing to end the strike.
On November 6, 2025, Senate Executive Committee, in accordance with the Senate Policy on the Academic Implications of Disruptions of University Business, declared that a Disruption to the term has occurred and convened a special meeting of Senate on November 10 to make decisions about the remainder of the term. We will be able to provide a further update after that meeting. Please check your SMU email for more details.
